With a batch kiln, the climate is controlled for the whole batch during the drying period, which makes it possible to achieve exactly the desired target moisture content. In other words, a good alternative when major focus is placed on meeting high standards of drying quality. The continuous kiln is based on a principle where the climate for each timber package changes during transport through the kiln. Thanks to the kiln being gradually loaded with new timber, the flow is continuous and capacity is maximized.
